God Provides A Way Out

Temptation is a compulsion or inclination to do something, especially something wrong or unwise.

The Bible says, “When tempted, no one should say, ‘God is tempting me. ‘ For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.” James 1:13-14”.

God cannot tempt anyone! It is not His Nature! However, satan first tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3). We can know the enemies methods. 2 Corinthians 2:11, “lest satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.”  He has no new tricks because the old ones has worked from the fall of mankind! He just uses different people.

Satan can tempt us without you asking, as he did also with Jesus (Matthew 4:1-10 and Luke 4:1-13. When you read, it is clearly the devil who is doing the tempting. I emphasize a great deal in my blogs how God is not controlling our lives and actions. But He has given us the freedom and power to make our own decisions. What God does allow is for us to receive His help and resist the enemy (James 4:7) or if we choose to follow the enemy.

It is not a sin to be tempted; it is sin to yield to temptation.

But then God is faithful!!

Jesus was tempted in all points like as we are, and yet He overcame every time! Hebrews 4:15, “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.”

Because He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid us in overcoming temptation. Again, (Matthew 4, Luke 4).

Hebrews 2:17-18, “Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in all things pertaining to God; to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.”

This verse gives us God’s word that He will not suffer us to be tempted beyond our ability.

1 Corinthians 10:13, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

Thank you Jesus!

1 Corinthians 15:57, “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The victory demonstrated by Jesus is available to us!!
