Finding Peace

In this world and in our lives, there is so much going on! God sees the predicament the world is in and the challenges we will face in our lives! For the love of God sent Jesus to be judged to be our peace in this life!

Jesus Christ is our peace!

Throughout the history of the world, there have been many wars! Kingdoms and nations fighting each other! Even within the family, strife, and conflict! And although we attempt to make peace, it can only be temporary.

Isaiah 53:5, “The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

Jesus gave Himself (in body) to be punished in our place in order that we may receive peace in our lives! The peace of God can rest in your hearts regardless of your circumstances. When you receive Jesus in your heart, it can change your life!

Every day is a good day because your heart is filled with joy! The way you view life is changed. Anyone choosing to go their own way and doing what is right in your own eyes, can never achieve lasting peace.

Romans 5:1, “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

God sent Jesus to justify us (as if we never sinned), through His faith, we now have peace with God! How is this peace applied? Especially when we don’t see peace in the world; peace in our families; peace in our relationships.

First, we need to recognize we do have peace with God! God is at peace with us! He is not angry with nor judging you!

Isaiah 54:7,8, “For a mere moment I have forsaken you, but with great mercies I will gather you. With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment;”

On the cross God forsook Jesus as He became the sin for the entire human race! God poured His wrath for sin on Jesus for you and I and judged Him as the one sacrifice for us all! (Hebrews 9:12). Since God is at peace with you; it is okay for you to be at peace with Him!

This is the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!

Second, you can have peace within yourself! Because all judgment, condemnation, guilt, shame has been taken off your shoulders and again placed on Jesus! 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for us”.

We can use for example a person going to court for a crime they are guilty of. Once the case finally has it’s day in court and you are freed, you are pardoned because someone has paid for you, there is tremendous relief for the vindicated person! That burden is no longer on their shoulders to carry any longer! Like the weight of a brick, but now it is gone!

Third, if you understand your peace from God and have peace towards Him, this peace undoubtedly will affect every area of your life! Your heart becoming free to move on in your relationships, decision making, and worldview!

Again, Jesus is our peace because God sent Him to free us of all guilt and the punishment of sin! God is not dealing with sin right now! He judged that in Jesus, forsaking Him. That is, turning His back momentarily on Jesus on the cross who became sin for you and I! God rose Him after the third day according to the scriptures, symbolizing He accepted Jesus being the sin offering for the human race!

God always along with the instructions, gives guidance how to walk it out! How to live what He is telling us! In Philippians chapter 4, the Apostle Paul writes to “stand fast in the Lord”, and to “rejoice.” The Apostle encourages us to focus on the Lord and what we have in Him! He furthers gives us what to meditate on; “true, lovely, noble, just, and good reports.” Then the peace will come to fill your heart and overflow to your life, relationships, and in all your circumstances.

This cannot be mistaken for everything peaceful in the world and other people. Each individual makes their own choices. This peace can reside in your heart and mind as you trust the Lord! And as you grow in your relationship with Him, the understanding will increase! The angels in Luke 2:14, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men,” declaring that God was sending the Savior of the world to reconcile peace between Him and mankind!!

We have the peace of God! Presently and ready to be active in you!
