Jesus The Friend of Sinners

We need to build a strong and solid relationship with Him in our lives. So that we may know Him and His will and purposes for us! To know why you were born and what is His plans for you! What does He want to do with you in this earth. Everyone is born with a reason and a purpose to do a special work for God!

Matthew 11:19, “The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they say, Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners! But wisdom is justified by her children.”

When Jesus was in this earth, He came to save those who were sinners. To save humankind! All of us were sinners; born in sin after the fall of man. Because of this, all were destined to go to hell and be separated from God. Jesus is the only way and the only person to remove our sin!

Jesus was friendly and walked with people. He ate in the house of sinners, such as the tax collectors of that time. The tax collectors were hated because people thought they were stealing from them and making themselves rich. Tax collectors have not been very popular and viewed as not good people. But Jesus knew these people, even though hated, He came to save them also. Therefore, Jesus made friendship and accepted their invitations to come to their homes to eat with them. For the sole purpose to share the goodness of God! Those who the community or world hates, Jesus can turn them to be good people! Then they will be accepted in the community.

In the house of Zacchaeus, who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. Jesus was there to share the love of God! He did not say to any they were thieves, and bad people. The message of love is what convicted Zacchaeus; he repented and surrendered all the riches he had stolen from people and gave to the poor! Jesus was moving with compassion and love! Jesus felt what others were going through, whether sick or whatever struggle. He knew they were suffering a lot and moved closer to bring the solution. He healed them all!

Guess what, He is doing the same thing today!

Those with leprosy were rejected and forced to separate from the community because it is contagious. They were called unclean. But Jesus touched them! People most likely were wondering why Jesus is touching them. Because He could have come to be infected. Jesus reaches those who are hated and rejected with a heart of love! Those who are homeless, the community may reject but God loves that individual! Loss of home, job, or loved one, Jesus cares about your situation! Jesus did not sin and brings us out of sin. He sees your tears! This is why He came from heaven to the earth! Your life will not remain the same. He cannot find you in tears and leave you in tears! You will be a blessing to the community!

In the home of Lazarus (who had passed away) were two of his sisters, mourning. The community gathered to comfort the family, but they could not bring any hope. But when Jesus came and asked where they had buried Lazarus. Through much resistance (they had buried and wanted to forget). They explained this was 4 days ago and the body is decaying by now. Jesus did not care about the smell of the body, what people said, or if Lazarus sickness was contagious like coronavirus. He reached the tomb and brought hope by raising Lazarus from the dead!

Jesus cannot just see you suffering and walk away from you! He is a friend who will stand with you in good and bad! Hebrews 13:5, “For He Himself has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

In the day Adam sinned, mankind lost everything! But Jesus has brought it all back! Access to God! Access to Heaven! Eternal life!

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” You are the world! God wanted you (human being) more than any other creation! God breathed His life in Adam (us)! He invested in us! So, when He loses us, He lost his own! He wanted us back! All of creation, animals, nature, were punished because of man who had fallen. God loves you the way you are, but He loves you too much to leave that way (all broken).

When Jesus was visiting and sharing with the sinners, they did not remain sinners! He changed them! We preach not because we were born perfect and holy. We have done evil like you may have done. But one day, we met this man Jesus who has changed our lives! He is in us and working through us to change others!

Jesus knows your name! He knows your life and your future! Before you think about Him, He wants to come and stand with you! To change your circumstances.
