Revive My Heart In A Desert Place, Oh God!

Proverbs 16:3, “Commit your activities to the Lord,
and your plans will be established.”

When we throw all concern about our works over on the Lord, our thoughts (plans) will be established. This means that our plans will come to pass. We cannot make things happen ourselves, this is why we need God to intervene. He knows our end just like He knew us before we were born. He knows our beginning. Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” Like a garden needing seeds to grow or the earth needing water for vegetation to spring up, God will weed out everything that hinders or destroys His purposes and plans for your life. In the end, what is left will succeed.

Rolling our cares about our actions onto the Lord, whether it be jobs, business, family, ministry, healing, or the vision God has given you! God will cause it to succeed! Being mindful, it is God who puts the vision in you not of your own ability. Whatever you do that’s good, it is the Lord who started it! The glory goes to Him! He builds the house. Therefore, He knows how to make it work!

Isaiah 55:8-11, 8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts higher than your thoughts.
10 “For as the rain and snow come down from heaven,
And do not return there without watering the earth,
Making it bear and sprout,
And providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
11 So will My word be which goes out of My mouth;
It will not return to Me void (useless, without result),
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”

God thinks differently than sinful, carnal man. These verses of scripture might lead some to suppose we simply can’t know the ways of God. But God has revealed them to us through the Holy Spirit. Everything you need, God has already done it in the spirit! Your healing is already done. We see God’s plan is too difficult but to Him it’s already done. Before we realize a problem, God has made the solution available through Jesus Christ!

God is wanting to establish our hearts, no matter what circumstances surround you. Google says, “Did you know that the Bible tells us that God is the One who establishes us? What does establish mean? It means to make firm or stable; to cause to grow and multiply; to confirm, make fast, strengthen.”

Here God gives a comparison in the book of Isaiah to seeds planted and watering those seeds in the earth to a person’s heart! The heart is the soil!

Rain waters the earth, you’ll see the seed of trees, fruits, and the like springing up! They  don’t struggle for it; it is natural or automatic. Just as your heart, if the rain of the Word waters your heart, it will produce joy, peace, confidence, and assurance, because God is producing in you! Without the rain or snow, it is barren, dry. Our heart is like the earth.

God is the only one who brings rain or snow from heaven. Everyone benefits from it. If no rain or snow, people will starve, land will dry up. Elijah (1 Kings 17) prayed to hold rain back from heaven for 3 1/2 years. God listened. People died because there was a famine. Rivers dried up.

That’s not happening today. The lesson here: Elijah believed God and committed everything to God! He trusted God. Because of this, God fed Elijah and sustained him wherever He lead Him to go! In the midst of the drought!

The word ‘revive,’ means to cause to live, awaken! Don’t fear what’s going on in the land where you live or our world! Lift your heads up and allow God to revive your heart. Establish your heart. Don’t allow your heart to be hardened by lies told God doesn’t care about you or your situation. NO, God loves you and will cause you to prosper even in a desert dry world!
