What Are You Doing With What God Gave You?

Matthew 25:21, His lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things. I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.”

This Parable Of The Talents is showcasing how the Master gave His  servants their own individual gifts and abilities. Then, how He went away for a long time and upon His return required accountability of what they had done with their talents to further His Kingdom!

A parable of Jesus and His Church, the Believers!

Every person’s work shall be judged as to what type it is, not what size it is (1 Corinthians 3:13).  Everyone has certain talents or God-given gifts that they are skilled in. Jesus did not tell the servants what to do with the talents but left the responsibility to them according to their own abilities! Showing His displeasure by dealing with the servant who kept his talent hidden.

This Kingdom of God is similar to a business calling for hard working individuals with open minds. An employer utilizes their employees who have skills, and even will give them more. And if some are lazy, they will get less and may get rid of them. Howbeit, many people think like the third servant (v.24). That God is hard and unfair!

Lazy worker.

Now the first two servants doubled the business/money they were given. God is looking for us to make profits in His Kingdom! Jesus called these servants “faithful and good” and said, “Well done!”

Some want God to do everything and just receive from Him! Yes, God has made available everything we need to have an abundant life through His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Cross, we still have to participate. When the government gives someone an opportunity to serve, as an elected official, if you don’t show competence, you will be a bad servant. You are not serving others.

The Lord Jesus is coming back! He has taken a long time and in this time He is giving us, we are to make more profit! When He comes, we will show Him what we have done! God doesn’t want us to keep the blessings to ourselves.

Matthew 9:37, Jesus said, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”

Many need-to-know Jesus; who need encouragement; help; to know God loves and has forgiven them! God has given us Himself; the best! He is not a harsh and difficult.

Furthermore, Jesus says, “we will rule over more!”

Those who work hard, serve and do more, God will give more opportunities. Those who are nonchalant and lazy, don’t see any benefit, not faithful, promotion shall slip through their fingers. This is how the Kingdom of God is compared to! God left us as believers assignments! To do more and give to others.

“To whom much is given, much will be required” (Luke 12:48). We are held responsible for what we have. If we have been blessed with talents, wealth, knowledge, time, so on, it is expected that we benefit others. God has invested in us and sees our needs! He is looking to see how we are working.

One day, it will be rejoicing if we would hear from the Lord, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
